02 — About
Tattoo Studio opened in 2019 on Rua das Agulhas, in Lisbon. We work by appointment only, one client per artist at a time, so the room stays quiet enough to hear the machine.
Every tattoo starts as a conversation and a drawing made for one body. We don't copy other people's work, and we'll tell you honestly when an idea is too small, too busy or too trend-bound to age well.
Non-negotiable, and visible. Ask to see the autoclave log — we'll show you.
03 — Artists
Three artists, five disciplines. Book one directly, or describe your idea and we'll match you with the right hand. Swipe to meet them.
01 — Fine line & micro botanicals
Single-needle work, botanicals and script that stays crisp for decades. Nine years in, trained in Porto. Prefers small, slow and precise.
02 — Blackwork & black-and-grey realism
Heavy black, negative space and portraits that read from across the room. A former printmaker who still thinks in woodcut.
03 — Japanese & neo-traditional
Bold outlines and moving backgrounds: koi, waves, peonies. Sleeves and back pieces planned across seasons, one session at a time.
04 — Portfolio
Every healed photo is at least six months old. No filters, no retouching beyond colour balance — what you see is what skin does to ink.

05 — Styles we do
Single-needle precision: botanicals, script, micro pieces. Small to medium work that stays airy.
Artist: Nika
Solid black, geometry, ornamental and woodcut-inspired work. Graphic, bold, ages extremely well.
Artist: Dario
Traditional motifs and composition: koi, waves, peonies, flowing backgrounds. Large scale, planned over sessions.
Artist: Ren
Bold lines with more illustrative detail and rich colour. Animals, portraits, ornamental frames.
Artist: Ren
Soft gradients and smooth shading: portraits, statues, nature studies. Needs size to hold detail over time.
Artist: Dario
Cover-ups and reworks: case by case. Send clear photos of the existing tattoo with your inquiry.
06 — How it works
From the first message to a healed tattoo. Most pieces take two to four weeks from inquiry to session.

A written guide, a check-in at two weeks, and one free touch-up within three months.

09 — Aftercare
Day 0
Wrap stays on 2–4 hours; second-skin film 3–5 days, as your artist says. Wash your hands before you touch it.
Days 1–3
Twice a day: lukewarm water, unscented soap, pat dry with paper towel, then a thin layer of the balm we give you.
Days 4–14
Flaking and itching are normal. Tap, don't scratch. Keep moisturising thinly two to three times a day.
Weeks 2–4
The surface looks healed; deeper layers aren't yet. Still no sun, pools, sea or sauna.
For life
Sun is what fades ink. Book your free healed check and touch-up within three months.
This is general guidance, not medical advice. Spreading redness, heat, swelling, pus or fever: see a doctor, then let us know.
10 — FAQ
Something we missed? Write to hello@tattoostudio.example — a human answers.
Yes, a bit. Most people describe line work as a hot scratch. Ribs, feet and sternum are louder; outer arm and thigh are quieter. We stop whenever you need to, and a full night's sleep and a proper meal beforehand make a real difference.
We'll use it as a reference, never a copy. Your artist draws an original piece around what you love about it.
Only on our monthly flash day, announced on Instagram. Everything else is by appointment.
Small pieces take about an hour; palm-sized work two to three. You'll get an estimate at your consultation.
Case by case. Send clear photos in daylight; blackwork and Japanese cover the most.
Sleep, eat, hydrate. No alcohol the day before. Wear something that gives easy access to the placement.
One person, yes. The room is small and quiet by design.
I came in with a vague idea about my grandmother's garden. Nika came back with a drawing that made me cry — the good kind.
Ten hours of Japanese across three sessions, and it healed like it was printed.
Calm room, honest advice. Dario talked me out of a size that would have blurred in five years.
